I have been working a lot on revising our Intranet. That needs A LOT of work. I started it using Rapidweaver but I decided that was not going to work for us, so I am switching the Intranet over to Dreamweaver. I hope to have it up in a day or so.
Two other things I have been working on a lot are our Early Childhood workshop and a new Readers Digest Abridged workshop on the IEP (I bet no one under 40 remembers the Readers Digest Abridged books. Do they even make those any more?)
Anyhow, the first few early childhood pages on Disability Access can be viewed here:
Home page http://www.spiritlakeconsulting.com/DA/early/index.html
Young children's friendships http://www.spiritlakeconsulting.com/DA/ … ends1.html
Fetal Alcohol Syndrom http://www.spiritlakeconsulting.com/DA/early/FAS1.html
More pages on early childhood, the IEP site and our new, improved Intranet are all coming soon.

Kelly went through the website and found every link that did not work (I hope) and I spent hours and hours fixing them. We link to pages we find interesting or useful and then those people move their pages or take them down. I understand how irritating it is when you go to a site and half the links don't work. So, everything should work now. Also, I am working on a menu for the free Developmental Psychology course that is in our virtual library. I wrote that a few years ago and technology has progressed since then, so I am cleaning that up. There is a lot more I would like to do.
There are also a whole lot of web pages and powerpoint presentations now collected for our upcoming IEP module. I am trying to figure out a logical order for that. Basically, I try to remember everything that bugs me about other people's websites - links that don't work, jumping from one topic to another in a way that doesn't make sense - and I try to NOT have that happen on our website.

MAJOR improvements have been made in the Caring for Our People site Introduction to Disability & Culture.
http://www.spiritlakeconsulting.com/COP … index.html
It is a bit discouraging that every time I do something that takes days and days I immediately think of a whole lot more improvements I would like to make. Over the next few weeks, Jessica and Breeanne are going to be going through our whole site and coming up with an extensive list of suggestions, including deleting some pages they think are not useful, making others more readable and generally trying to improve the site in any way they can think up. Please feel free to post your own suggestions here. We really do want to serve you better.

Added a new newsletter, Child Trends issue on weight, body image and eating disorders in teens to the Obesity shelf..

Uploaded our latest newsletter on Growing Older with a Disability to the Newsletter page
http://www.spiritlakeconsulting.com/SLC … tters.html
Why am I so lazy I did not put up more this week? Actually, I am not so lazy. I am working on creating a new module focused only on the IEP and that is taking up some time. I am also fixing minor things as I find them, and working on a complete overhaul of the special education module.

Also, we have been getting some interesting and unexpected findings from our RUSH project on how people on the reservations obtain their information on disability. Anyone who wants to see what is happening on the RUSH grant can find it now added under "REPORTS" on our documents page on the company Intranet
http://www.spiritlakeconsulting.com/int … ments.html
I added a BUNCH of new things to our website but you can't see any of them, ha ha ha.
No, truly, I did, but I am making some major huge changes and in the middle of it working on the Oyate evaluation and an evaluation for the UCR Title III Project. I have the changes on a testing site but I won't be uploading them until I check everything out.
If you are interested, there are a few more details on what is in progress on my blog

I also did add a frequently asked questions (FAQ) page

Well, there is lots of cleaning that needs to be done, that's for sure!
Hey, everyone, I am considering changing the website in a major way. Please take a look at this
http://www.spiritlakeconsulting.com/new_index.html
And give me your opinion on the new format. We have hundreds of pages and thousands of documents so I don't want to undertake a massive change if it is not an improvement. Compare the one above to the old home page and check out some of the new pages I added at the top. Let me know what you think.
Thanks.

I like the colors and pictures. It can be somewhat difficult to read somethings, if they are bland and dull looking. I also like how things flow from page to page. I would like to compliment you on the progress and work you have put into developing all the content and organization of the information. This is a very good product.

Ella found a program that automatically checks for broken links. We have thousands of documents on our site and many thousands of links. The program found 421 broken links the first run through. I have fixed 260 of those. Of the remaining 160 probably 100 are links to this forum - people's links from weeks ago to some article or site that is no longer up. So, I have another 60 to fix.
Other than that, we have a new press release on the latest grant from the USDA, to develop a resource to help tribal leaders, managers and employees make better ethical decisions
http://www.spiritlakeconsulting.com/SLC/new.html
and a couple of more entries on my blog
http://www.spiritlakeconsulting.com/int … _blog.html
Other than that, most of what we have been doing is in bits and pieces and not up for public consumption yet. I am finishing up the final report on the Caring for Our People Training Project and Erich is working on data collection for RUSH. We are also finishing the IEP module which will be first used at White Earth in less than two weeks.
Stay tuned.

Also, my blog has been updated with the current entry concluding that I am insane. Actually, it starts with the assertion that I am insane, so conclusion is, technically, grammatically incorrect.

ADDED TO THE VIRTUAL LIBRARY
Strengthening the community system of care for children and youth with special health care needs. By: Suzanne Bronheim, Thomas Tonniges, funded through the Communities Can! Project
Do health care professionals and community members in your community work together? This workbook discusses the necessity for health care officials to concentrate on promoting health and eliminating illness, in addition to caring for patients. Keeping an entire community informed and providing them with sufficient care can be a challenge anywhere. Workbook objectives include educating yourself on the different cultures and health care approaches that exist, collaborating with others who work in the system, sharing leadership with others, going that extra mile to make your system work.

I added a page on learned helplessness today, as well as four pages on students with disabilities in college. When most of the website is done, I will add the templates that put a menu, header and footer on each page.
