Early Childhood Resources - Workshop Group Assignment

Tyler seemed like a healthy little boy when he was born. His mother smoked, but that wasn't too unusual. She was 19 when he was born, and he was her second child in two years, but again, she certainly wasn't the only one in the community to have two babies that young. He was a little small when he was born, but no one worried too much. Now, at 26 months, he still doesn't walk. When he reaches for objects he often misses. His parents are worried that he might have problems with his vision, but that wouldn't explain his not walking. He says a few words, but not as much as his brother did by his age. One day, when she is picking him up from your center, his mom tells you she is really worried about her baby, and since you work in that area, could you please tell her what to do.
