A compliment paid to me by a friend when I told her I was having a hard time writing a letter to the editor regarding the latest developments in the continuing saga of the fighting sioux nickname and logo:
you are a warrior, doing a warriors work, you are respected in the community and we need your words to help shape the dialogue
too often the women stand up and they should especially if its regarding children or women's issues
but men need to be the modern day warrior
many times that means speaking out for the people
in a good way
in a strong man way
I have always admired that about your words
you are not afraid
you are not political
and you don't care if you are popular
you give voice to the way the warriors would ride into danger and say...it is a good day to die
so I know it will be nina waste
can't wait to read it
